What to expect

Thanks for supporting your player. Here's a straight-up look at what a season with Eclipse involves — the time, the cost, what's included, and what tournament weekends look like — so you can plan ahead.

Time commitment

How much time it takes

Practices
2 × per week

About two hours each — the regular rhythm of the season.

Tournaments
4–6 weekends

Usually both Saturday and Sunday, at least half a day each. We share dates well ahead of time.

Costs

We're still finalizing team costs for this year. As a general guideline:

Cost should never be the reason a kid can't play — if it's a barrier, reach out and we'll work something out.

What to buy

  • ◦ Cleats — soccer or football cleats work; no metal spikes.
  • ◦ A water bottle — practices and tournaments are thirsty work.
Optional

Nice to have

  • ◦ A disc of their own — a 175g flying disc (the Discraft Ultra-Star is the standard) for practicing throws at home.

Tournament day

What to bring

  • ◦ Cleats and a full water bottle
  • ◦ Lunch and snacks — it's a long day
  • ◦ Sunscreen and a hat
  • ◦ Weather layers: rain jacket, warm layer, or extra shade depending on the forecast
  • ◦ A folding chair for the sideline
  • ◦ Both jerseys (light and dark) if the team has them

What to expect

Expect a full or half day at the fields — several games with downtime in between. Ultimate is self-officiated, so players make their own calls in the spirit of fair play (Spirit of the Game). Kids stay with the team all day; parents are welcome to watch and cheer. Bring a chair, plan for the weather, and pack more water and food than you think you'll need.
